Upcycling – Creative Reuse

Upcycling is also known as “creative reuse.” It is the process of transforming useless or unwanted products into new products of better quality.

I love upcycling. I love finding uses for items that have been discarded. I especially love when I find vintage items that I can re-use. These are old mason jars I made into pendant lights.

We found an old barn board in our new shed and decided to add some shelves to our living room with pipes as the brackets.

The box underneath was from a flea market. I added small castors to be able to move it around easily. It has great storage inside and is the perfect height for a coffee table.

This was an old basket from a client, it almost made it to the yard sale until I saved it and used it for a semi-flush lamp.

And one of my favorites….old coffee sacks made into kitchen curtains. $10 for the sack and a cafe rod.

There is nothing better than the sense that you preserved some of the past and gave it a new life with a new purpose! And it’s budget conscious too!

I consult, design, and remodel spaces that reflect the homeowner’s lifestyle and budget by getting the cost question out of the way and really listening to what my client wants and how much they have set aside for their project.
