Many times when I have an initial consultation with a client they want to know what their “design style” is. This always poses a problem because not many people fall into a category; many people like aspects of many styles and pigeonholing them into one style is not practical. Also, with HGTV adding design styles like modern farmhouse, boho chic and modern eclectic, clients are expecting a design label that is really nothing more than a trend.
Any-who…….I found this article that explains design styles really well. This is in the broadest sense of style but is still worth the short read. Of course if you want to be boho chic, then go for it! But keep in mind what is “chic” today could be trash tomorrow, so make sure those really trendy accessories are done in moderation and don’t break the bank.
Cut, paste, and read.
