Life can throw you some curveballs

I have always used this forum to talk about design, but today I am going to vent a little, and definitely get off topic a lot. I’ll be honest, I started 2025 with more than a little pessimism about what was going on in my own life, as well as the world around me. It was a rough start and I felt a little beaten down.

Now, I am pretty optimistic by nature. I may be cynical but I’m also an optimist. (Its the Gemini in me). I am also of the mindset that I can forge through just about anything, , and I gotta be honest….it has gotten me this far relatively unscathed.

This January was a trial. Without getting into politics, the current state of our country concerns me, but more than that, my friends and family were affected in so many ways and that was hard to take . Also, in business we were taking a hit on a couple fronts. My work was slow because clients were putting major changes on hold, then our own home build ran into a few issues. And, oh yea, I was turning the big 6-0 this year and that has hit me harder than I’d like to admit.

Now it’s May and things are looking a little better, not every aspect, but at least a few things have turned around. I can’t say that things are unicorns and rainbows, but I have found a little inner peace and a work-around for a few obstacles. So, if you find yourself in times of trouble, give it a minute, like the weather, it will change. Because change is the only constant, whether you like it or not, and you better lean into it.

As for work, I have a couple projects coming up that I’m pretty excited over so watch for those!

PS-I did say projects!

I consult, design, and remodel spaces that reflect the homeowner’s lifestyle and budget by getting the cost question out of the way and really listening to what my client wants and how much they have set aside for their project.
